Nicole Blackwell
Nicole grew up on Long Island, NY and was lucky enough to have lots of volleyball playing opportunities. She played in the New York Empire games, played Club ball and earned a volleyball scholarship to Georgetown University. After four years of playing, she served one year as the Assistant Coach to the Georgetown team. Shortly thereafter, Nicole moved to San Diego, California and beach volleyball became her main focus. She played several years on the AVP tour as well as many other tournaments. She played indoor volleyball with the Xtecs, a San Diego graduate team as well as in other women’s leagues. Nicole also coached at Solana Beach Volleyball Club for two years and ran her own Summer Beach Camps for four years. Nicole is a former elementary school teacher, and she competes as a professional horse trainer/rider. She ran her own horse training business for 12 years and she is now embarking on a Master’s Degree. Nicole has two children, ages 9 and 12, and looks forward to watching them develop their own interests.
